I've really been looking forward to Halloween this year. It's the first time since I was a kid that I live somewhere that kids go trick or treating. In the land of childless condo dwellers, you can still buy candy as long as you plan to eat it all yourself or take it to the office.
I made a rookie mistake of buying the candy so early that I managed to eat my way through most of the snickers before Halloween. :( But mostly I just took out my Halloween aspirations on Maisy. It was hard work being an Angel!
I hung my skeleton, played spooky Halloween sounds on the porch, and obsessively checked the front door. The kids were very cute, although the grabby "how many can we take" did lessen their appeal a little bit. (I think I understand more about childhood obesity than I did before.) And they were intrigued by the spooky sounds coming from the dark side porch - a definite keeper!
The leftover candy has been tossed into the freezer in the hopes that it will slow me down. If only I had an office where I could pawn it off on my co-workers!
